Hallo, Margrét,
I just sent you a comment for posting on your site. REALLY loved staying with you. Sesselja is a fantastic girl, so capable and friendly!

I am wondering whether you would be willing to part with the recipe for the bread you served at breakfast. I've been looking online, and it seems like it isn't the standard Rúgbrauð. If you are not able to share, no worries. My family has a few recipes that are closely guarded.

I am meeting with a woman tomorrow who is traveling to Iceland in May, and will highly recommend you to her.

Best,
Sarah Mentock

We stopped at the Volcano Hotel after a long day of traveling, because it looked so inviting. What a find! We loved our very clean, beautifully appointed room, lovely dinner and hearty breakfast. The staff (Sesselja) was wonderful! Very helpful, capable and friendly. This is a small gem on the south coast. Not to be missed!

Góðan daginn,

we (me and a friend of mine) stayed at Volcano Hotel for one night in May 2012, during our trip round Iceland. We found a very nice and clean room, a very delightful dinner and a fine breakfast. The owners of the Volcano are very friendly and warmhearted people. Our stay was perfect! The morning of our departure was the moment, the weather was clearing up and getting very fine (only sun and blue sky for more than one week!) for the whole rest of our tour.

Volcano Hotel was the best reservation, Iceland Tours made for us.

Remebering our pleasant stay, I will return (now with my wife) in July 2013 and doing a Highland tour with Jóhann.

með kærum kveðjum
Best regards from Germany

My sister and I stayed one night at the Volcano Hotel on our trip around Iceland. It was one of the best hotels we visited during the entire trip, and I wish we could have stayed an extra day/night to go on a glacier tour with Johann. It's on my agenda for my next trip to Iceland!
The accomodations were beautiful, clean and well-kept. The hosts were warm and friendly. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. (Can I get your waffle recipe, please?)
I have recommended this hotel to several friends, and I hope to stay here again soon.

I stayed at Volcona hotel with my parents for one night and one full day of excursion in August 2012.

The guest-house was pened in July 2011, and everything is completely new. The rooms are very large, tastefully appointed and beds are very comfy. It is extremely nice after a long day visiting the surroundings. The bathroom is modern, and spacious.

Breakfast was of very high quality, and there was plenty to choose from. Make sure you call ahead of your arrival, and order dinner, as there are only limited options in the Vik area, and the dinner menu although limited is excellent and fairly priced.

Johann and Margret, the owners, are very friendly and made sure we had a good stay.
I had excellent email conversation ahead of our stay with Johan to book one of his super-jeep tour. I can not recommend it enough, as it allows access to part of Iceland you will not otherwise see, even in a 4x4. Johann has grown up in the area, and is a mine of information regarding the eruptions. He also knows the good spots for photographies.

The stay and that day was one of the highlights of our stay in Iceland, and I would rate 6 stars if I could. Can not wait to go back!
